Region
Low mountain ranges with plateaus called “pampas”,
valleys and rivers of pure crystalline water compose
the landscape of the province of Córdoba and
part of its neighbor, San Luis. Córdoba possesses
a colonial background manifested in its beautifully
preserved traditional architecture. Buildings such as
the National University of Córdoba, temples,
schools and country houses which once pertained to the
17th and 18th century Jesuit Order, are clear examples
of that.
The tourist potential of this region is immense, since
it has plenty of cities and villages with excellent
hotel services, an incomparable climate and the captivating
beauty of its landscapes.
Villa Carlos Paz is the most important tourist center
of this region and it is situated by Lake San Roque,
which makes the site an ideal place for holidays where
both water sports and exciting nightlife can be enjoyed.
Placed in the middle of the low mountain ranges, we
can find a genuine Mid-European village called Villa
General Belgrano, where a National Beer Festival is
held every year.
Merlo, in the province of San Luis, has a matchless
microclimate, together with a splendid stillness, ideal
to relax and forget about all the problems we had during
a long and tiring year.
