Sports
Sports equal passion in Argentina,
from any point of view, not only as a spectator but
also by practicing them.
As a mere spectator, one can witness popular events
such as soccer classics –the most emblematic one
being, without doubt, Boca vs. River–, open tennis,
polo or golf finals, car races, turf classics such as
the Carlos Pellegrini Grand Prix and other numerous
not-so-massive sport tournaments and competitions taking
place all through the year.
When it comes to sport practice, Buenos Aires offers
the possibility of carrying out almost any individual
or team sport, either as a professional or an amateur,
from the tourist who simply wishes to rent a tennis
court, play some golf holes or do some horseback riding,
to the group who wants to rent a soccer field; from
the professional who comes to compete in an international
event, to the polo player who brings his own ponies
with him to play along with the best ones in the world.
Either minutes away from Buenos Aires or a few hours'
distance, the tourist can find a wide range of water
sports to do, as well as to practice sport fishing and
small game or big game hunting.
